Conversando con un amigo, que recién venia de dar unas clases en Europa, me cuenta que ha traído una película que tengo que ver, y por cierto me pasa el dvd. La película en cuestión trata, según me relata, de física quántica, mecánica quántica, etc. Se trata de What the Bleep Do We Know!? traducida libremente como ¿¡Qué Rayos Sabemos!?. Esta película creada por cine independiente estadounidense es dirigida por Mark Vicente, Betsy Chasse y William Arntz.

Bueno, vi la película, es una especie de documental que corre sobre una trama argumental con animación y efectos visuales. Es una película que te motiva, que te invita a reflexionar, a conversar el tema de ¿por qué estamos aquí?, ¿qué es la realidad?, ¿qué son los pensamientos y de qué están hechos?, ¿qué es Dios?, ¿puede la mente cambiar la realidad?, ¿influyen las emociones en nuestros cuerpos?, ¿qué es la materia?, ¿qué somos?.

Al correr los minutos la trama presenta situaciones, mientras el documental te va proporcionando antecedentes, desde la física quántica, la mecánica quántica, de la teoría sistémica y de la denominada psiconeuroinmunología. Algunas de las razones las había leído por aquí y por allá, pero una imagen vale más que …, bueno ya saben. En definitiva, la película propone que la realidad, sin el observador -es decir, sin cada uno de nosotros- no es más que un campo de posibilidades; todo está interconectado con todo, en cada persona reside la fuerza creativa de su vida; y los sistemas neurológico, endocrinólogo e inmunológico constituyen un complejo tejido psicosomático.

Betsy Chasse, la única mujer de la terna de directores de la cinta, declaró, a El País "Con esta película tratamos de abrir un diálogo absolutamente necesario si queremos descubrir dónde está la unión entre la realidad y nuestra mente. Pretendemos estimular la búsqueda de las respuestas que todavía nadie tiene y que son un tabú, y dar la oportunidad a la gente de discutir sobre ello".

La motivación me llevo a buscar información sobre ¿¡Qué Rayos Sabemos!? ¿¡What the Bleep Do We Know!? Encontre 22 trabajos en Google Scholar, 19.989 post en Technorati, y 1.360.000 en Google, lo menos que puedo decir es que la película ha dado que hablar.

Algunas Críticas tomadas de Megatendencias

Las críticas que ha recibido la película tienen dos dimensiones. Una se refiere al rigor de los descubrimientos comentados, que si por una parte de la comunidad científica se consideran consistentes, por otra parte no están completamente aceptados como ciertos.
La película está articulada en torno a una protagonista que busca sentido a su vida, a la que acompañan en su experiencia una serie de expertos de diferentes disciplinas: física, neurología, psiquiatría, filosofía, medicina, biología, teología, explicando conocimientos relativos a la experiencia de la protagonista, Amanda (Marlee Matlin). Los argumentos que los diferentes expertos exponen en la película están documentados en muchos casos, pero en otros aspectos son más débiles. La fragilidad de algunas de las exposiciones de la película está bien recogida en un artículo de Wikipedia. Además, según Popular Science, uno de los expertos entrevistados, David Albert, profesor en la Universidad de Columbia, considera que las declaraciones suyas que aparecen en la película son incompletas y que están distorsionadas.

Eduardo Arcos dice en ALT1040 que el problema de What the bleep Do We Know es que en realidad es un método de manipulación y “evangelización” disfrazado de película/documetal para atraer personas a un culto llamado “Ramtha’s School of Enlightment”.

Bien después de estos antecedentes, lo que me queda es decir que “el día de hoy es el día más poderoso e importante para tu futuro”, que ninguno de nosotros actúa sobre el mundo sino que sobre mapas de la realidad.
